CAIR-Houston Meets with Members of Chronicle’s Editorial Board

CAIR-Houston met with members of the Houston Chronicle’s Editorial board, at its office for an introductory meeting. James Howard Gibbons and Claudia Kolker attended from the Chronicle.
Representation from CAIR-Houston included Director Shariq Abdul Ghani, Communication Manager Nisa Khan, and three other members from the CAIR-Houston office.

The purpose of the luncheon was to foster an open channel of dialogue between the Muslim Community and Houston’s most prominent newspaper, the Chronicle.  The meeting allowed stereotypes to be cleared up and questions to be asked from both sides. 

Nisa Khan said, “The flow of conversation between the media and Houston’s Muslim community is vital to changing any misperceptions that the Houston public, as a whole, has.  I feel this luncheon was definitely a step in the right direction.
