The
Council on American-Islamic Relations Houston Chapter met at Rice University
to discuss the issue of Tolerance. CAIR Houston stated that the reason why
the Muslim world today has a bad taste in their mouth with America is because
the United States was primarily at war with Muslim dominated nations. The
Keynote Speaker "Carol E. Quillen mentioned the caricatures against the Prophet
Muhammad(saw), and CAIR responded by enriching the audience by stating the
reason why Muslim reacted in the way that they did was because they come from
uneducated societies who cannot fight back with the pen in an educated manner,
and that because Muslims have a deep engraved love for the Prophet(SAW), where
even making fun of him is abhorrent.
The dialogue consisted of a diverse group of individuals from different religions
and cultures.
